Ida Clydine Rappazzo's Obituary
Ida Clydine Clydie Aiken Rappazzo went to be with her savior on March 2nd, 2013.
Clydie was born on November 30th, 1934 in Sherman, Texas to Clyde and Bertha Aiken. She graduated from high school in Sherman in 1953 and worked at Schlitz Brewery, later Stroh's, retiring from there after 26 years in 1996. Clydie graduated from Kilgore College with a Bachelor in Business in 1982.
Clydie was very active and she and her twin sister, Polly, played basketball in the Senior Olympics for 10 years. Tom Landry sponsored their team, the Texas Stars, and they won gold every year and won silver at nationals.
Clydie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, John Rappazzo; two daughters, Bene White and her husband Gary of Longview, Texas and Victoria Porter of Juneau, Alaska; her twin sister Polly Williams of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, Baylea Wood, Connor Moore, Liam Porter and Scout Porter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Clydie was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Pearl Aiken Dick, her father Clyde Aiken, and her mother Bertha Moss Aiken.
Clydie loved her Lord and her church, Mobberly Baptist, where she was a member for almost 30 years.
Visitations will be Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview from 5 pm – 7 pm. A private interment ceremony will be held at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas.
