Hubert "Red" Bishop
Visitation for Hubert "Red" Bishop, 74, of Longview will be held from 6 to 8 PM Monday, January 20, 2003 at Rader Funeral Home. Honoring his requests, cremation will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mr. Bishop was born on June 22, 1928 in New Braunfels, Texas to Hubert and Emma Bishop. He passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2003 in Longview.
Mr. Bishop served his country with the United States Air Force before receiving a honorable discharge in 1947, and had been a resident of Longview since 1955. He was a member of several organizations including, the Masonic Lodge # 404, Scottish Rite, F.O.E. 4125, Gregg County Scottish Rite, and the VFW Post 4002.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 8 brothers. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby, his son Keith and his wife, Kerry of Ft. Worth, his daughter Dianne and her husband Ronnie Smith of Longview. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Ramie Bishop of Ft. Worth and Emily Smith of Beaufort, South Carolina his sister, Evelyn Spicer of New Braunfels, and brother, Jack Bishop of New Braunfels.
Additional survivors include, Lillie Nollen, sister-in-law of Ft. Worth and brother-in-law, Milton Lorenz of Kingsland and numerous neices and nephews.
