Hoyle Van Burkleo's Obituary
Funeral services for Hoyel Van Burkleo, 79, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Thursday, June 21, 2012 at First Christian Church in Longview with Reverend David Farmer officiating. A private family burial will follow in Forrest Hill Cemetery in Petty, TX. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Julia Margaret Beville and Hoyel married in 1955 and moved to Longview in 1961. They enjoyed 56 years together. Hoyel enjoyed travel, hunting in the Texas Hill Country, New Mexico and Colorado as well as deep sea fishing. Many enjoyable hours were spent at the deer leases in Mason and Talco Texas. In his younger years he served as a Reserve Deputy with the Gregg County Sheriff's Department. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Emma Van Burkleo; his sister, Patricia Van Burkleo Schrader; daughter-in-law, Susan Payton Van Burkleo; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law J.C. and Madge Beville.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dr. Julia Van Burkleo; son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Toni Van Burkleo; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Jim Tutt; and son and daughter-in-law Andy and Lisa Van Burkleo; his grandchildren, Lauren, Allison and Ben Van Burkleo, Stuart Cammack and Lena Fuller, Doctors Alex and Kathleen Cammack; great grandchildren Harper and Ada Cammack; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Betty Van Burkleo; his sister-in-law Madgie Stewart; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charles and Nelda Beville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Jim Sawyer, Dr. Richard Hamer, Dr. Rick Ernest and their staffs. The care takers and nurses at Hawthorne House at Buckner's provided extraordinary care for Hoyel during his final months. Their kindness will always be appreciated by the family.
