Pete and I are so sorry for your loss. In reading the obituary and comments, it sounds like your dad was a wonderful friend, father, and person. I also realized what a small world it is when reading that his parents were from Nacogdoches, and he went to Nacogdoches High School. My parents are from Nacogdoches, and my dad is also 83. I asked if he remembered Howard Buchanan, and he said, "Yes, we went to high school together." My dad has dementia, but he does pretty well with remembering things from way back. How crazy is that! Who knew all of these years in Dinner Club that are dads went to school together. My dad said they didn't really hang out, but he did remember him, I'm glad that he is now cancer free and resting peacefully in heaven, but we are praying for you and your family to have strength and faith in dealing with his loss.

Ellen and I send our condolences to you and your family. i remember the rounds of golf we'd play when Howard came down to visit. He was a true gentleman and he left a great legacy in his children, grandchildren,and great-grandchildren.

I grew up under the influence of Howard and Deanne. Wonderful people.
I will miss seeing Howard at the Lobo football games. So glad he got to see them win the state championship! Prayers to Jean, Kevin, Meredith and the rest of his family.
