Funeral Services for Hope Ferrell, 81, of Longview, will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, February 9, 2002 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Dr. Laney Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Mrs. Ferrell was born on July 6, 1920 in Bonham, Texas to Homer and Elsie Hildinger. She passed away on Thursday morning, February 7, 2002 in a Longview hospital.
She was a resident of Longview, for 48 years, a retired teacher with the Longview Independent School District, a member of the Longview Senior Citizens Club, and a member of Mobberly Baptist Church.
Loved by all who knew her, Mrs. Ferrell was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Earl Ferrell, and one sister, Lometa Hodge. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Becky Ferrell of Longview, her daughter, Patricia Ferrell of Houston, five grandchildren, Melissa Johnson, Mindy Green Walmesley, Nathan Ferrell, Magen Ferrell, seven great grandchildren, Justin Green, Cory Johnson, Mackenize Walmesley, Tawni Hammer, Kyle Walmesley, Ali Hammer, Heather Johnson, one sister, Geraldine Laughlin of Marshall, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Jim Merrill.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 Friday evening, February 8, 2002 at the funeral home.
