Funeral services for Homer T. McBride, 83, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Chaplain David Badders officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Rosewood Park. He passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 in Longview.
Mr. McBride was born November 9, 1929 in Oil City, LA and was a longtime resident of Longview. He grew up in Louisiana and graduated from LSU in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science degree. While attending LSU, he ran track. He was a retired salesman. Mr. McBride was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Pine Tree Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in Korea and Viet Nam.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Edward McBride of Illinois; brother, Charles McBride and wife Helen of Longview; 3 nieces, Priscilla McWilliams, Kay McBride and Janet McBride; 3 great nieces and 2 great nephews; and several great great nieces and nephews.
