I started as a boy on a farm
Raised by family with loving arms
Taught the difference of right and wrong
I went facing the world head strong
Travel and work was what I did
Being a man no longer a kid
From place to place I learned new skills of trade
Then joined the Army for my country needed aide
After the war I settled down
Had a wife, four boys, and a home outside of town
Faith and hard work pulled us through
I passed down my lessons on what and what not to do
From farm boy to traveler, worker, soldier and carpenter
I was a son turned husband, father, grandfather then great grandfather
I lived life full of fun, challenge, and a final message to tell
That faith and hard work will bring friends and family to show you lived life well
I will always love you Granddaddy Martin. I wrote this poem because I will never forget you. Your advice, wisdom, skills, and humor will always be with me. You accomplished many things and stayed true in being a provider for your family. Youâ??re an inspiration to me and I hope to be as good a worker, husband, father, and grandfather as you have been in this life.##imported-begin##Clint Martin##imported-end##
