Holly Barton Braziel's Obituary
Holly Barton Braziel, loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend, left his earthly body Friday morning after an arduous, yet persistent and courageous struggle with pancreatic cancer. He took his final peaceful breath at his home on Lake Cherokee, while surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Mr. Braziel was born in Longview, on October 12, 1953, to Amy Lee Castleberry Braziel & William Marshall Braziel. He was preceded in Death by his Mother, Amy Lee Castleberry Braziel. He is survived by his Father, William Braziel, wife and best friend, Kimberly Braziel, daughter and Son-in-law, Amanda Braziel and Billy Holleman, daughter Crystal Choice. Son and Daughter-in-law, Christopher Steven Choice, and Becky Berryhill. Brothers, and sisters-in-law Don and Barbara Braziel; Ronnie and Debra Braziel, sister and brother-in-law Brenda and John Borin, Grandson Kobe Cruz Choice, and grandson to be, his namesake Hollis due to arrive on earth in May; also, many nephews and cousins. His family would lake to thank Mike & Molly Weed, and Debbie Martin, for their unconditional love and support. Also thanks to all of his devoted friends and The Lake Cherokee fishing club. A special thank you to Daryl Buckelew MD; Linda Couch MD and all of the Longview Cancer Center nurses who made Holly feel so special. Holly will be sorely missed for His great wit, humor, patience, kindness and his contagious laugh. He believed in hard work and had a love for all things fun, and especially loved living on Lake Cherokee.
Holly did things his way, and as such, no immediate memorial service will be held. To honor his final wishes, and in keeping with Holly?s hope, positive attitude and zest for living, a celebration of his life will take place at Lake Cherokee this summer.
