Hollis Ray Trussell's Obituary
Hollis Ray Trussell age 72, Of Longview, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. He was born November 15, 1941 to Jimmy and Cordie Trussell in Lamar County, TX. Later from 1960-1965 Hollis honorably served our county in the US Air Force where he was stationed at Amarillo Air Force base. After he got out of the military he moved back to East Texas. He had several good jobs including R.G. LeTourneau then he was employed with Lone Star Steel where he worked for 35 years before retiring in 2005.
Hollis was a hard working man always providing well for his family which he loved dearly. He enjoyed the outdoor activities with his family which included fishing with his son Britt. Hollis was a faithful member of the Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Longview. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Hollis is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Sylvia Trussell, two children Britt Trussell and his wife Pamela and Hollie Canter and her husband Forest, grandchildren Kassidy Windham, Leah Moneypenny, Ashley and Samantha Corbit, great-grandchildren Caden Windham, Brenya Moneypenny and Daniel James Walker, a sister, Pat Long and a brother Mike Trussell.
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation 5pm-7pm Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview then funeral services will be the next day, 11 am Friday, February 21, 2014 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Longview. Interment will follow services at Summerfield Methodist Cemetery in Longview.
