Heriberta Alvarez
March 16, 1927-February 8, 2010
Graveside services for Heriberta Alvarez, age 82 of Henderson, will be held Friday February 12, 2010 at 2:00pm at Lakewood Memorial Park with Rev. Jason Taylor officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home.
Heriberta Alvarez passed away at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler Monday morning due to natural causes.
She had made a living as a laborer for most of her life. She was also a very dedicated homemaker. She raised 12 children on her own and then helped raise many of her grandchildren. She leaves behind 36 grandchildren and 88 great-grandchildren. Heriberta Alvarez was a strong Christian woman with an immense faith in our Lord and Savior. She was not a member of any one certain church. She went to any church she was invited to. She did however follow the ways of the Pentecostal religion in her own life. She enjoyed reading the bible everyday sitting under her favorite tree in her yard.
Her hobby was gardening. She had a great love for plants.
Our ?abuelita? was our families? leader, the rock of our foundation. She influenced all of our lives and made us the people we are. She gave even when she had nothing to give. Her families? needs always came before her own. For that we will always be grateful.
We love her with all our hearts, she may be gone but she will never be forgotten. Each and every one of us holds her in a very special place in our hearts.
She is survived by her children Javier Alvarez, Carlos Alvarez, March Alvarez, Elizabeth A. Alvarez, Alicia Alvarez, Rodolfo Alvarez, and Irene Alvarez.
The family will meet friends at the Funeral Home from 6-8 pm Thursday Night.
