Helen Whitney Rodgers' Obituary
Memorial services for Helen Whitney Rodgers, 84, of Longview will be 10 AM Thursday at the 1st United Methodist Church Chapel with Reverend Bill Cunningham officiating. Rader Funeral Home, Longview, in charge of services.
Mrs. Rodgers died Monday evening at Buckner Westminster Place.
A native of Jefferson, Texas, she was born February 24, 1918 to Evans and Myrtle Whitney, but lived most of her life in Longview. She attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans. Mrs. Rodgers was a retired bookkeeper with L. E. Myers Company and was involved with the Girl Scouts, Gregg County Historical Museum, Meals on Wheels, served all offices of the Thelma Morgan Sunday School Class and was a 70 year member of the 1st United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her husband, Charles and a daughter, Nancy Rodgers Bear.
Survivors include sons: Michael Rodgers of Georgetown and Patrick Rodgers of Dallas; Daughter: Virginia Boone of Friendswood, Nine 9 grandchildren and One 1 great grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church or the Gregg County Historical Museum.
