Helen Terry's Obituary
Helen Terry, passed away on November 5, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born on August 27, 1933 to John Albert and Georgie Mae Harp Green in Santa Fe, TX , and was a resident of Tatum, TX. She peacefully transitioned at her home, surrounded by her family.
Helen was a proud homemaker, dedicating her life to creating a warm and loving home for her family. She found joy in caring for her husband, James, and raising their children, Pam, Douglas, Bobby, and Patty. Her role as a mother was one she cherished dearly, fully immersing herself in the lives of her children and guiding them with love and support.
Her Christian beliefs shaped her character, and she instilled those values in the hearts of her children. In her free time, she enjoyed watching sports, and there was nothing that brought her more excitement than witnessing her beloved Texas Rangers win the World Series.
Bowling had been a lifelong passion for Helen, the camaraderie and competition that came with the sport, making lasting memories and friendships along the way. Family was of the utmost importance to her, and she made it a priority to attend as many of her grandchildren's events, never missing an opportunity to support and encourage them.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, James "JT" Terry; her daughter, Patty Beall; daughter-in-laws, Tori Terry and Wendy Terry: son-in-law, Robert Whisenhunt; and brother Russell Green.
Mrs. Terry is survived by her son, Douglas Terry and Bobby Terry, her daughter Pam Bunting, son-in-law, Lynn Beall, and brother, Robert Green.. She leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories of their beloved Mimi. Grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor and husband, Jamie, Dustin Terry and wife, Sondra, Phillip Terry, Kelly Sorenson and husband, Jonathan, Bryan Terry, Billy Beall and wife, Amy; great-grandchildren, Judson Taylor, Jagger Terry, Jayci Terry, Rachel Terry, Kathrine Terry, Abby Sorenson, Jett Sorenson, Morgan Terry, Bryn Terry, Macy Brown, Ryan Beall and Gavin Beall.
Pallbearers are Dustin Terry, Phillip Terry, Bryan Terry, Billy Beall, Jonathan Sorenson and Jamie Taylor.
A graveside service will be held at Tatum Cemetery on November 8, 2023, at 2:00 pm, where she will be laid to rest. The family will gather starting at 1 pm to visit with friends and family. The service will be a time of remembrance, celebrating a life well-lived and the lasting impact Helen had on all those blessed to know her
