Graveside services for Helen Redd Jones , 77, of Bastrop, Texas will be 1 pm Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. Saturday 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Mrs. Jones died Tuesday at an Austin hospital.
She was born February 13, 1930 in Kilgore, Texas to Clint Ansel and Verna E. Hicks Redd. A former resident of Longview and Lake Cherokee, Mrs. Jones was a registered nurse having worked for more than thirty years in the field of emergency room care, a homemaker, and a member of the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, John V. Jones, Jr. of Austin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cathrynn and Dick Edmonson of Bastrop, Texas and Pansy and Gayle Thompson of Edmond, Oklahoma; sister Patsy Redd of Midlothian, Virginia, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Victor Jones, Sr. in 1999.
