Helen Ferrell Collins
Funeral services for Helen Collins 77, of Longview will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at Mobberly Baptist Church in Longview. Officiating will be the Reverend Scott Schulik, minister to Sr. Adults. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, 1617 Judson Road. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM prior to the service in the church parlor.
Mrs. Collins was born on August 12, 1926 in Mt. Sylvan to Charles and Ida Ferrell. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and housewife. Her grandchildren and flowers were her favorite treasures. You could always find her working in her yard.
Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Roy B. Collins. She was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class and helped every Thursday at the church with mailing ?The Mirror?. She also worked in the Longview School District for 10 years before retiring.
Mother will be missed be her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Randy Brazzel of Shreveport; two sons and daughter-in-law, Roy Baker Collins, Jr., and Jeffrey Neil and Teresa Collins, all of Longview; grandchildren, Kyle Brazzel, Kristen and Brian Bernard, Kathleen and Klint Brazzel, Nina and David Shelton, and Hunter Collins; great grandchildren, Dawson and Dillon Shelton.
Pallbearers will be: Klint Brazzel, Randy Brazzel, Brian Bernard, Ricky Johnson, David Shelton, and Rex Ferrell.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Collin memory to a charity of choice.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Alejandro Plan, Dr. Linda Couch, and Dr. Ronald Morton who made our road easier to travel.
