Helen Marquez's Obituary
After a hard fought battle, Helen was called to her heavenly home on July 1, 2019, with loved ones by her side.
Mary Helen “Helen” Marquez was born in 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was raised in Odessa, Texas.
She married David Marquez in 1970 and together they had two children. They moved to East Texas in the 80’s.
It’s so hard to put into words what an amazing woman she was and what she meant to so many. She was a dedicated Catholic, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a hardworking woman. She was a pillar in her community. She touched countless lives and was cherished by many. She was a strong-willed woman, she was a fighter right up til the very end. She was truly an extraordinary woman with a beautiful loving soul. She will definitely be missed, but her legacy will continue on in the hearts of her family, friends and the many lives she impacted.
She is preceded in death by parent Mary V. Rodriguez. She is survived by husband David Marquez, daughter Kimberly Marquez, son Christopher Marquez & wife Melissa. Grandchildren Lani, Crystofer, Harper, Avery & Courtnie Henry. Siblings Robert Rodriguez & wife Melba, Richard Rodriguez & wife Angie, Danny Rodriguez and wife Dianne and Christine Hill, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins
Friends are welcome to join the family for a time of visitation Friday, July 5 2019 at 1:00 pm in Tatum High School’s auditorium. Funeral services will follow after at 2:00 pm with Father Mark Dunne officiating. Interment will follow at Tatum Cemetery.
