Helen "Elaine" Mitchell Lummus' Obituary
Helen "Elaine" Mitchell Lummus, 89, of Longview, TX, passed away on August 20, 2017 peacefully in her sleep.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on August 25, 2017 in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview, TX the Rev. C. Bill Voss officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Rader Funeral Home, Longview, TX. Burial will follow the funeral at Neeley Cemetery, Gum Springs, TX.
Elaine was born an only child to Kutman and Annie Mitchell in Goodsprings, TX on June 14, 1928. She attended Carlisle Schools in Price, TX.
Elaine married Charles Lummus on February 20, 1943 and they were married 51 years.
Her hobbies included quilting, crochet, reading, and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandbabies. She will be remembered by family and friends as a devoted wife and mother. She was known by all for her sweet, compassionate disposition.
Elaine is survived by sons; Johnny Mike Lummus, wife Joyce, of Longview, Tony Lynn Lummus, wife Linda, of Ruston, LA, and Billy Kutman Lummus, wife Sharon, of Longview, and daughter, Charlcie Lummus Haltom, husband Tommy, of Marshall, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and special friends, Lynn Mitchell, Linda Clayton, and Shirley Thompson
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Kutman and Annie Mitchell, and Husband, Charles Lummus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
