Helen Janet Fudge's Obituary
Funeral services for Helen Janet Fudge, age 75, will be held Wednesday December 10, 2008 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson, with the Rev. Dime Manning officiating. Burial will be in the Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Cherokee County.
Helen Janet Fudge began her final journey with the Lord on December 7, 2008 as she passed away at her residence. Janet was born in Oklahoma on October 28, 1933. She was raised traveling with her parents on the pipeline until she moved in with her grandparents to finish school in Coleman, Oklahoma, where her heart always remained. Janet married Jimmie Fudge on September 27, 1952. They moved to Houston, where they raised three children, until they retired to Jacksonville. Janet was very involved in her children's lives through both church and school activities. Throughout the years she enjoyed sewing, Christmas baking, camping, gardening, making porcelain dolls, and being a member of The Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a member of the Good Springs United Methodist Church, and a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. From birthdays to holidays to family hoedowns, her most treasured times were always with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Lee Fudge, parents Riley Carl & Vera Lee Hodges, granddaughter Jennifer Leigh Akins, great grandson Jeffrey D'Wayne Pady, brothers Jackie Farrell, James Riley Hodges & sister-in-law Pat Hodges.
She is survived by son; Jimmie Don Fudge & wife Edith of Jacksonville, daughters; Jacqulin Lee Patterson & husband Dan of Houston. Susan Kay Louis & husband Angelo, of Dayton, sister; Linda Joy Payne of Kingsland. Grandchildren Chris Akins, Jeremy Akins, Barbara Pady, Christy Phelps, Carla Langham, Angela Robers, Jimmie Ray Fudge, Becky Dominque, Coby Mooring, Jonathon Eshliman, 19 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jimmie Don Fudge, Chris Akins, Jimmie Ray Fudge, Jeremy Akins, Michael Payne, and Jonathan Eshliman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Pady, Josh Akins, David Mitchell, A.J.Dominque, and Jared Clark.
The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 5pm – 7pm Tuesday.
