HELEN GRACE HOLDEMAN PEARSON
Helen Grace Holdeman Pearson, better known as "Ginger" to all her family and friends, passed away Tuesday, September 23rd in Pasadena, Texas after a lengthy illness. She was born to Erasmus Oliver Holdeman and Linnie Lenora Waller on May 28, 1920. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 35 years, Morris H. Pearson, four brothers, Richard B. Holdeman, William Thomas Holdeman, Jesse Douglas Holdeman, and John Dudley Holdeman and half-sister, Ruth Palmer. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Bill Box of Shenandoah, Texas; brother and sister-in-law,
Dale and Pat Holdeman of Sylacuaga, Alabama; sister-in-law, "Dean" Holdeman of Ore City, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ginger will best be remembered for her strength of character, her witty personality and her ability to accomplish anything she set her mind to do. Her love of life was apparent through her colorful stories which were always a source of entertainment.
Genealogy was Gin's passion and the fifty years of dedication to researching descendants of her own family as well as others, will be her legacy. She could often be found sitting in the middle of the floor with genealogy papers scattered all around her while she searched for some record. These records have all been donated in her name to the Montgomery County Library in Conroe, Texas.
She was an active member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas in the Port Arthur/Beaumont chapter until moving to Longview.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel, 1617 Judson Rd. in Longview with Rev. Dale Holdeman officiating. Burial will follow at Crim's Chapel Cemetery near Henderson, Texas.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening 6 to 8 pm.
