Helen Rose Carlisle's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Carlisle, who departed this life on March 3, 2025, at the age of 94. Helen was born on January 13, 1931, in Earlsboro, Oklahoma, to Eddie and Clara Belle Kane. She lived a life filled with love and dedication to her family, and her warm spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Helen prided herself on being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She married Tommie Carlisle, and they spent 63 years together before his passing in 2012. She served Longview proudly as the First Lady of Longview during Tommie’s terms served as Mayor. Helen was always supportive of all of Tommie’s endeavors. From their marriage came two children, Karen Correll, and Thomas Terry Carlisle. Her connection with her family was a source of immense joy and pride throughout her life. All the accomplishments in her life, Helen was most proud of being a wife, mom , and grandma. She was also a founding member of Longview Christian Church and a graduate of Pine Tree High School.
Professionally, Helen found fulfillment as a Credit Sales Representative with Sears, where she spent many years serving her community and building lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in all that she did.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Clara Belle Kane, husband, Tommie Carlisle, two grandsons, Shane Correll and Ryan Carlisle, and 6 siblings. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Karen Correll, son Thomas Terry Carlisle, grandchildren Shannon Gilbreath and husband Kirk, Amie Brooks and her husband Jeff, Tad Carlisle, and Bridgit Carlisle. Also left to cherish her sweet memory are great grandchildren, Avery Graham, Ava Carlisle, Laney Brooks, Kaitlyn Gilbreath, Max Carlisle, Tommy Carlisle, Katie Grace Carlisle, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her connection with her family was a source of immense joy and pride throughout her life.
A Memorial Service for Helen will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 2:30pm, at Longview Christian Church. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate her extraordinary life, sharing memories and honoring her memory. The family appreciates your support during this difficult time and looks forward to the warmth of fellowship as they pay tribute to a remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
Helen’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her, and her memory will forever be cherished. As we reflect on her life, we remember Helen’s spirit, her kindness, and her unwavering strength. May she rest in eternal peace.
