Heath Faucheux's Obituary
Heath Abram Faucheux, son of Dion and Michelle, brother to Nathan and Trent Faucheux, was born on March 20th of 2001 in Effingham, Illinois. He was enrolled in Hallsville High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and The Hallsville Bobcat Band. During marching season he was constantly practicing his French Horn music and his marching steps. His love for music included anything from Jazz, Show Tunes, Big Band, classic hits, and Christian songs. If he wasn’t thinking of an “idea” to build something, he had music playing in his mind and would sit at the piano or with his harmonica to play his own and recently taught himself to play trumpet. He was on the Hallsville Math Science Team and competed in Academic UIL since 6th grade. Heath always woke up early for those Saturday morning events with a smile and was ready to go compete and earned many medals. He was also a Tae Kwon Do 1st Degree Black Belt and recently was certified as an American Red Cross Life Guard.
Heath’s greatest passion was Boy Scouts where he’d started as a Tiger Cub, earned his Arrow of Light and was only lacking completion of his project for the Tyler Discovery Center to earn his Eagle Scout. He knew all his knots, cooking skills, fire building, first aid and enjoyed teaching these skills to younger Scouts not only for our Troop, but as a staff member for National Youth Leadership Training Camp, Cub Day Camp and Camporee. He was an outstanding leader and served in several roles in his Troop including Senior Patrol Leader, Troop Guide and recently its Bugler. He conquered peaks of Mount Baldy at Philmont, Guadalupe in Texas and Baldy Mountain in Sequoia National Park in California. Whether it was climbing, knee boarding, rappelling, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, shooting guns, archery and especially sailing; he loved adventure and would attempt any challenge that interested him.
If you knew Heath, you knew that there was never a way to tell him no or to darken his light. He was so imaginative and driven; whatever he put his creative mind to, would undoubtedly become a reality. If anyone deserved to be described as unique, it was Heath. He not only viewed the world in full, he noticed the odd things and small and beautiful details that were often missed by everyone else. Heath’s mind worked as an organized mess- it was messy but it somehow worked and only he knew how to run it. It started with building simple machines, to solving Rubik’s cubes in 17 seconds, collecting mini objects for fun, and collecting hour glasses. You always knew he was around when you saw trails of toy cars, Lego blocks, matches and burnt candles.
Anything Heath did always came with a story. You could look to see what he was doing, and he would already know what to tell you about it. He could constantly keep a smile on anyone’s face. His entertaining personality and charming smirk was what made him who he was. Heath was a boy full of charm and an amazing outlook on life. His crazy thoughts and ideas made anyone around him curious about what he was going to do next. He was an amazing son, brother, nephew, grandson and friend.
