I have known the Perkins since the day I was born and there has never been a time where I haven't loved every single one of them to death. Mr. Harry Perkins was a great man, I always enjoyed his company, and I truly am sorry for the families loss.##imported-begin##Harrison Long##imported-end##
Judy, you & family are in our thougths and prayers. We never had the privilege of meeting your dear Harry but from reading the post here.. he had to be a wonderful man. We know from experience what it's like to lose a family member with out any time to prepare that is if you ever fully prepare So we certainly understand what you are going through at this time. We love you Judy as well as your 3 sisters and your dear mom Suzie. Your aunt Llavonia sent us the obit and we were very saddened by the news. Remember even though things will be different for you from now on , GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU.

I remember Harry from years ago when I was a little girl and went to Macedonia Baptist Church. I had always told my mother that he reminded me of Kenny Rogers. During my times of shopping at Dressin Gaudy he was always nice and had that smile. He took pleasure in helping the ladies with their purchases not something you get from just any man. To Harry's family and other loved ones .....
As a Sunday school and public school classmate of Harry from the third grade through high school graduation, I will remember Harry as a kind boy with a caring heart.
I will always remember him as one of my "boyhood idols" from the time we played Little Leage baseball together. He was a ferociously competitive and amazingly successful left-handed pitcher. He was the smoothest infielder you could imagine! No one hated to lose more than Harry, but he never made an excuse and he never had an unkind word for the opponent.
I've only visited with Harry one time at our 20th year reunion since we graduated in 1960, and I left Greggton, but I've read the other comments in this Guestbook, and it does not surprise me to read that Harry's love for others continued to show throughout his life.
I take comfort in the certainty that Harry was welcomed by the loving arms of God when he left this life.

The Perkins grandchildren had their very own Santa Claus, and the public also saw his smiling face at the store. His laughter, wit, jokes and always taking clothes to the car are instant memories which put a smile on my face. Now he and Don Henley's mother are dancing to "Dirty Laundry" in Heaven and all the songs we loved together. What a memorable evening that was for us to have shared with you. Harry is now pain free, although we are all in pain at our loss.You and your family remain in my thoughts and prayers now and in the days to come.
