Harry E. Haper's Obituary
Born May 3, 1926, in Bristow, Oklahoma, Harry E. Haper was a remarkable son, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. On April 23, 2019, Harry’s spirit left this world for his trip to a far greater place.
Harry was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army Air Forces. Harry was awarded the American Theater Ribbon and the WWII Victory Medal. At the end of WWII, Harry began his 42-year career in the oil and gas industry. He worked throughout East Texas and North Louisiana before retiring as an off-shore drilling and production manager along the Louisiana coastline. Harry was a 30-year parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Longview, TX.
Harry is survived by his wife of 73 years, Vera Plaschke Haper, daughter and son-in-law Victoria and Bob Koenig and their daughter Amanda Medlin; daughter and son-in-law Gail and Joe Betzel and their daughters Lori Day and Kristi Godfrey; son Rodney Haper and his daughter Bettina Haper. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Cade Medlin, Alexis Medlin, Madison Day, Jackson Day, Collin McEnturff and Katelynn Godfrey. He is preceded in death by his grandson Barry Wayne Poss.
Graveside services for Harry will be held 10 a.m., April 25 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Longview.
