Harriet Pearson's Obituary
Harriet L. Pearson, 76, of Longview, Texas died peacefully at her home on May 26, 2024.
Harriet was born in Longview on January 11, 1948 to Charles “Red” and Verna Bailey. Harriet attended Longview High School before studying at DeVry University. She married George K. Pearson, Jr. in 1970 and they had two children, Eve and Tank Pearson.
Harriet was an accountant and business consultant in Longview for over 40 years, earning the respect and trust of many local businesses and residents. During that time, she started Pearson’s Business Consulting where she helped local businesses and individuals with bookkeeping, tax preparation, and business advice. Throughout her career she was known for her hard work, honesty, integrity, dedication, and passion for teaching and helping others.
Harriet was one of those rare people whose kind, generous, loving, and nurturing nature drew in everyone who came into contact with her. She never turned anyone away and made everyone feel equally important. She would loan money to anyone who needed it because she believed in everyone. Harriet was a good listener and rarely complained about anything. She was a Christian and was also very grounded to the earth. She had a connection with plants and animals like no one else. She raised two successful children, mostly on her own, that have both recently celebrated 20 years in business. Harriet loved art, music, dancing and life in general. She even became quite the painter two separate times in her life.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents Red and Verna Bailey. She is survived by her son, Tank Pearson and his wife, Joy; her daughter, Eve Pearson; and many extended family members and close friends.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial to celebrate the life of Harriet at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7th at Rader Funeral Home in Longv.
