Harold Ray Teague's Obituary
Funeral services for Rev. Harold R. Teague , age 74 of Longview formerly of Henderson will be held Thursday January 5, 2012 at 11:00am at the First Baptist in Gilmer with Rev. Todd Kaunitz and Rev. Mike Teague officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3pm Thursday at the Rusk County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Marion Palmer and Rev. Mark Headrick officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Harold Ray Teague was born on November 30, 1937 in Newport, Tennessee to Horace and Beulah Teague. He went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Norma Teague. His survivors include his son Mike Teague and his daughter in law Amy Teague and his two grandchildren, Slaton Teague and Maci Teague. He is also survived by his loving wife Joyce Teague and step-daughter Amanda Randy Hatfield, step-sons Terris Bettina Hudspeth, Darrell Lisa Wright, Ron and David Wright all of Tennessee, and also 16 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren. He attended Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a pastor and began his career preaching in Springfield, Tennessee in 1959. He then pastored Harris Memorial Freewill Baptist Church in Greeneville, Tennessee, First Freewill Baptist Church in Henderson, Texas, Longview Freewill Baptist Mission in Longview, Texas, Union Arbor Freewill Baptist in Beckville, Texas and returned again to First Free Will Baptist Church in Henderson where he retired in July 2007. Throughout his career, he held many positions of leadership in the Free Will Baptist Denomination at the district, state, and national level. He was honored as Who's Who in American Religion and touched many lives throughout his ministry career. He also worked for many years on the campuses of the schools for Pine Tree ISD. He was a member of the Lion's Club of Henderson, Texas. He was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, friend and pastor, but most of all he was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.Pallbearers will be Eddy Burks, Allen King, Charles Cammack, Stanley Berry, Ed Crouch, and Edell Husband. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Thomas Men's Sunday School class, which Harold taught.
Two visitations will be held, the first from 2 ~ 4pm Wednesday at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson, the second from 6~8pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
