Harold M. Rusk's Obituary
Funeral services for Harold M. Rusk, 89, of Henderson, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, November 6, 2009, at the Rader Funeral Chapel in Henderson with the Revs. Mark Friesen and Trey Kellenberger officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Rusk died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, in Tyler.
He was born January 16, 1920 in Colfax, Texas to Sidney and Jeffie Reaves Rusk and was a longtime Henderson resident. He was the great-great grandson of General Thomas Jefferson Rusk for whom Rusk County was named.
Mr. Rusk was a member of the First Christian Church, a US Army veteran of World War II, and worked for Pritchard and Abbott for over thirty years as a valuation engineer. He loved gardening and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Etta Ruth Rusk.
Surviving is his wife Jean Rusk; sons, James H. Rusk and wife Sammy of Garland, David A. Rusk and wife Ruth of The Woodlands; daughter, Jo Lynn Motto and husband Tony of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Vanessa Pierce and husband Read, Emily Rusk, Laura Leverett; great-grandson, Bryant Pierce; step-sons, Justin Hawthorne and wife Wyoma of Tyler, Darwin Hawthorne and wife Angie of Dearborn, Michigan; step-grandchildren, Tracy and Al Hyma, Tamara and Aaron Ward, Travis Hawthorne; step-great grandchildren, Ethan and Abigail Hyma .
Pallbearers will be Bill Cochran, Bob Youngblood, Freddie Crim, Dr. John Lynn Duran, Jim Commons, and Ronnie Keith. Honorary pallbearers will be John Anthony and Odell Poovey.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
