Harold F. Hershberger
A family led celebration of life for Harold F. Hershberger,81, of Longview will be held at Oakland Heights Baptist Church on Thursday, November 1, 2018 beginning at 3 P.M. The family will receive friends and family for a time of visitation beginning at 2 P.M. prior to the service at the church.
Harold was born on October 31, 1936 in Wichita, KS. The fifth child born to Ralph and Opal Hershberger. He passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 from a long illness at Good Shepherd Medical Center.
Harold was a manager and a salesman in the car industry for most of his adult life. Leaving Wichita, KS as a young man, he made California his home for many years. He moved to Houston, Texas in 1984 where he met and married his wife, Netty. Harold accepted Jesus Christ as his savior in 1990 which he stated was when his life really began. Harold loved to play golf, fish, and had various collections. Harold was always ready with an encouraging word to make a person smile and feel better about themselves.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Darold, Ralph, Roy, and John; one sister, Helen McClintock; Step-son, Ronnie Lee.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Netty; step-daughter, Joy Lee Forth and spouse Greg; daughter-in-law, Jo Lee; 2 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Oakland Heights Baptist Church.
Cremation services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
