Harmon Hatley Brumble
On this day, 85 years ago, a sweet Mother, Muriel Brumble was awaiting the arrival of her oldest son, Harmon Hatley Brumble. Today, 85 years later she was awaiting his arrival in Heaven. He went to his heavenly home on his 85th birthday.
Services for Hatley Brumble will be held Thursday, June 16, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Tommy Brasher officiating. Hatley was born June 13, 1926, in Bethany, LA to Muriel and Klebe Brumble. He graduated from Hallsville High School and then joined the Navy and served on the USS Tucson. Hatley married Lou Ann Brumble on May 8th, 1956. They shared 55 years of marriage together and spent many special times hunting, fishing, or whatever they could do together as a couple.
He was the manager of the Riverside Shooting Resort where he worked as a guide for quail and pheasant hunts. He retired from Longview Savings and Loan. Hatley loved nature, whether it was hunting, fishing or riding around his ponds looking at the bullfrogs he had raised. He also loved collecting and restoring old cars in his last few years. He was also a big talker with many stories to tell. We will miss those stories, but they are forever in our memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Muriel and Klebe Brumble; a brother, Estin Brumble; a sister, Lynda Niblett; a son, Randy Brumble; and a grandson Joe Daniel Brumble.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Lou Ann Brumble of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and James Strickland of Hallsville, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Joe E. "Jeb" and Kim Brumble of Hallsville. He was "Papa" to four grandchildren, Josh Strickland and wife Hollie of Springtown, TX, Allison McKinney and husband Sidney of Hallsville, Hunter H. Brumble and wife Leah of Hallsville. Joe Daniel Brumble, who moved to heaven in 2007, and three great granddaughters, Maddie Kay McKinney, Rylie Claire McKinney and Reagan Faith McKinney of Hallsville. He is also serviced by sisters, Shirley Stuart of Shreveport and Jan Cook of Irving; brothers, G. K. Brumble of Hallsville and Klebe Brumble of Corsicana; many brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews; a number of dear sweet friends and some very sweet and loving caregivers that took special care of him during this last year.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night, at Rader Funeral Home of Longview.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Brumble, Josh Strickland, Sidney McKinney, John Mark Stuart, Jerry Lindsey and Jr. Wilkerson.
