Harley Ray BonhamFuneral services for Harley Ray Bonham, 71, of Longview are scheduled for Two O?clock PM Saturday August 23, 2003 at New Beginnings Baptist Church with Dick Stagner officiating under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Garden. Harley went to be with the Lord at his home on Wednesday August 20th. He had been suffering from a lengthy illness.Harley was born October 9, 1931, in Cordell, Oklahoma to Woodrow and Esther Bonham. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1949. He joined the Army in 1951 and spent his tour of duty in Korea.He married Winnie Ford on July 10, 1953, in Burbank, California. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary last month. He retired from Midland Brake Company in 1991, as District Sales Manager.His favorite hobbies were fishing with his sons and grandsons, and gardening. He was an active member of Citizen?s on Patrol, and was presented with an honorary ?Fighting Heart Award? in June of this year. At the time of his death, he was an active member of New Beginnings Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Adult 10 Sunday School Class and served as greeter and usher. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.He is survived by his wife, Winnie of Longview, four children, Pam Harshaw and her husband, Bob of Longview, Mike Bonham of Longview, Jeff Bonham and his wife, Pam of Keller; and Kelley Melton and her husband Philip of Denison; four grandchildren, Chris Bonham of Keller, Ryan Harshaw of Longview, Olivia and Nathan Melton of Denison.He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one brother, and several aunts and uncles.The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Friday, August 22, 2003 at the funeral home.Pallbearers will be his sons, son-in-laws, and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be men of his Sunday School Class and close friends.Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Greater Hospice of Longview, and New Beginnings Baptist Church building fund.
