H.W. “Buddy” Pecot
H W Buddy Pecot was born on 19 December 1945 to Robert and Elaine Pecot. In 1967, he married Carolyn McElroy. He became a special agent with the FBI at age 23 in 1969. Twenty-three was the youngest age anyone could become a special agent. After training in Washington D.C., his first office was in St. Louis. One year later, he was transferred to the Los Angeles office. After living six years in Southern California, the decision was made to pursue business opportunities in East Texas. For ten years he owned and operated Lillies and Lace Bridal Shop, then furthered his business education, receiving his CPA certificate in 1988. In 1990 an opportunity presented itself to form Harmony Living Centers. Buddy continued as a CPA and President/CEO of Harmony Living Centers. “Mr. Buddy” was loved and respected by his employees, friends and family. He was a world traveler, having visited such places as Australia, New Zealand, all fifty states, Canada, Europe and some Scandinavian countries. He was an avid supporter of his kids and grandkids, and all of their accomplishments. Buddy was also an active member of the Reel Road Church of Christ.
Buddy unexpectedly passed away in the early morning of Monday, October 14. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elaine Pecot, and his uncle, Wayne Rogers. Those left to cherish the memories of Buddy include his wife of 52 years, Carolyn McElroy Pecot; children, Steven Pecot and his wife Melissa, Cheryl Tillery and her husband Scott, and Clayton Pecot and his wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Landon Pecot, Madison Pecot and fiancé, Hunter Key, Harrison Pecot, Thomas Pecot, Andrew Tillery, Matthew Pecot, Nicolas Pecot and Megan Tillery; his brother, Bobby Pecot and his wife Mary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services for H.W. “Buddy” Pecot, 73, of Longview will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm. A visitation will be held on Thursday at Rader Funeral Home from 1pm ~ 2pm. Officiating the service is Gordon Grammer, Gary Whitehorn, and eulogy by lifelong friend Walter Lee McNutt. Serving as pallbearers are Hunter Key, Kenny Lattin, Clint McElroy, Harrison Pecot, Landon Pecot and Thomas Pecot.
