Guy Lance Lamb's Obituary
Guy Lance Lamb was born February 15, 1910 in Texarkana, Arkansas, first son of Erle Riley Lamb and Maude Bickley Lamb.
He graduated from El Dorado, Arkansas High School in 1929, an Eagle Scout and member of the track team. In 1931, he moved to Longview to work at First National Bank and later for Southwestern Power and Light Company. In January 1936, he married Rosa Richkie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Richkie.
He worked for Mr. Buford D. Battle, C.P. A., until World War II in which he served in the Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant from October 1942 until December 20, 1945, at which time he was overseas in India.
After the war, he opened an accounting office and became secretary for Cherokee Water Company 1948-1957. Later he was office manager of Killingsworth Oil Company for twenty-four years until his retirement. After retiring, he set up office for Mrs. Jane Johnston Akins and worked for her a few years.
Being a member of First Presbyterian Church, he served as an elder and treasurer of Westminster Place Board, later known as Buckner Westminster Place.
His hobbies were listening to classical music, reading, golf and working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Richkie Lamb; son, David Louis Lamb; son, Stephen Lance Lamb and wife, Betty; daughter, Lou Ellen Lamb Corones and husband, Dr. James Peter Corones; four grandsons, Stephen Terrance Lamb and wife, Kendra and their children, Elizabeth and Anna Nell, Alexander Louis Lamb and wife, Jill and their children, Lauren Nicole and Alexander Lance, Michael Corones and Matthew Corones; sisters, Remica Russell and Minnie Jean Ruzicka; niece, Betty Ann Mahoney and a great nephew Bryan Mahoney and numerous cousins.
Memorial services will be 11 AM Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jonathan Jehorek and Dr. W. D. O?Neal officiating under direction of Rader Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in memory park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army or to a charity of choice.
