Grover H. Riddick Jr.'s Obituary
Grover H. Riddick, Jr., age 93, of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, surrounded by love at his home. Born on August 31, 1931, in Crockett County, Tennessee, he was the cherished son of Grover H. and Jeannie Riddick.
A proud veteran, Grover served honorably in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, exemplifying the spirit of bravery and commitment. He married the love of his life, Wanda Lee Anderson, on November 7, 1953, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter after moving to Longview in October 1956. Grover dedicated 37 years to Texas Eastman, where he worked in the Traffic Department, developing lifelong friendships and making remarkable contributions to his profession.
An avid fisherman and passionate baseball fan, Grover spent many joyful hours by the water and cheering on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, as well as the Atlanta Braves and Texas Rangers. His faith was a cornerstone of his life as a dedicated member of Mobberly Baptist Church, where he glorified God singing in the choir for over 20 years.
Grover was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda; his parents, Grover H. Riddick Sr. and Jeannie Mae (Wright) Riddick; and his siblings: brother Tom and sisters Dorothy, Mosela, and Betty.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, survived by his son, Michael and wife Linda; son Alan and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren Angela Lewandowski, Brian Riddick, Christopher Riddick, and Elizabeth Taylor; as well as great-grandchildren Cabry, Trey, Bryce, and Beckett. He is also survived by numerous nieces, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Accent Care Hospice for their compassionate care during this time.
A memorial service will be held in Grover's honor at Rader Funeral Home on July 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well-lived.
