Glenn W. McNeill's Obituary
Services for Glenn W. McNeill, 85, of Longview will be 10 AM Thursday at the First Christian Church, 720 N. 6th St., Longview, Texas with Dr. Jim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Park Cemetery. Mr. McNeill died Sunday, July 31st at a Longview nursing center.
He was born March 22, 1920 in Woodlawn, Texas to Charles E. and Alma Evans McNeill. He was the youngest of six children. A sixty-year resident of Longview, Mr. McNeill, was the owner of a used automobile dealership and was a member of the First Christian Church where he was a faithful member of the Cornerstone Sunday School Class. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Glenn did not have a selfish bone in his body. His joy was simple: to love fully and to put everyone else before himself. He lived for his family and friends. G. W. will always be remembered for his sweet spirit, generous heart, and persevering attitude.
Mr. McNeill is survived by his wife, Betty Jo of Longview; a son, Jerry L. McNeill of Houston; a daughter, Judy McNeill Morehead of New York City; a niece and her husband, Danna and Wally Fowler of Longview, and a nephew and his wife, Charles and Christie McNeill of Nederland, and other family members Judy and Richard Campbell, Leah and John High, Shelby and Jenalie Lowe III, Keith Lowe, Tom Fowler, Don Fowler, Chris and Nancy Fowler and beloved family friend Maurine Cox.
Memorials may be made to the
First Christian Church New Building Fund or to the Property Fund.
