Glenda Spencer's Obituary
Services for Glenda Spencer , 68, of Longview will be held 2 PM Thursday, June 3rd at the Alpine Church of Christ on East Loop 281 in Longview with Jerry McGaghren officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery, directed by Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Glenda died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 in Longview following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 12, 1935 in Midland to W.I. and Merle Warren Breedlove. A former resident of Tyler, Glenda had been a resident of Longview since 1958. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Alpine Church of Christ.
Glenda graduated from John Tyler High School in 1952 and then attended Tyler junior College where she became a member of the Apache Belles. Glenda also was chosen as a duchess in the Tyler Rose Festival and was a contestant in the Miss Tyler Beauty Pageant. She later established Home Interior Product Sales in East Texas and was a member of the Longview Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband, Richard of Longview; her daughters and sons-in-law, Janie and Don Farrer of Longview and Angie and Craig Tidwell of Whitehouse; her son and daughter-in-law, Richie and Shelia Spencer of Chandler; her grandchildren: Allison, Tyler, Holly and Hillary Farrer, Logan and Layne Tidwell and Miles and Brooke Spencer; one sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Dave Adams of DeSoto; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Rosemary Breedlove of Emerald Bay and Bill and Thel Breedlove of Sun City and several nieces and nephews.
Glenda was preceded in death by her father in 1968; her mother in 1993; and one brother, George Breedlove in 1961.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 2nd 6 to 9 PM at Rader Funereal Home in Longview.
Memorials may be made to the building fund at the Alpine Church of Christ or to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital, c/o Memorial and Honor Program-F, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
