GLADYS WITHERS ANDRESS
Graveside services for Gladys Withers Andress , 99, of Longview will be 4:00 pm Saturday at the Withers Cemetery in Buna, Texas with Will Withers officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Andress died Thursday morning, May 22nd, at a Longview hospital.
She was born April 16, 1909 in Buna, Texas to Johnny and Linnie Withers. Mrs. Andress was a homemaker, a member of the Oakland Heights Baptist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Beauceant women's auxiliary of the Masonic Lodge, the Gregg County Historical Museum, and local bridge clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, J.W. Withers; four sisters, Mertice Cousins, Inez Hughes, Johnileen Peckinpaugh, and Ruth Withers; her husband of 76 years, Everett G. Andress; and daughters, Betty Lou Whitley and Gladys Ruth Phillips.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Pattie Willbanks of Tyler, Bill Phillips of Victoria, and John Phillips of Austin; her great-grandchildren, John Wayne Phillips and James Allen Phillips of Victoria, Clinton Willbanks of Tyler, and Jennifer Phillips of Austin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. in Longview Saturday morning 10:00 am until noon
