Gladys Ballenger's Obituary
Our Father's chosen day to receive his child, Gladys Ballenger, into his eternal home was Saturday, April 22, 2006, in Tyler, Texas.
In her determination to live, Gladys was a shining example of goodness, grace, and unconditional love. She continued to touch the lives of her family as well as all those she met with her blessings of joy.
Gladys graduated from Tatum High School in Tatum, Texas. She served as a Sunday School teacher and a vacation bible school teacher at Centre Presbyterian Church, Elderville, where she was a member for more than 70 years. Gladys married Audrey Ballenger on April 27, 1933. The lived in Elderville sharing their lives for 46 years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Audrey.
survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Bobby Tate of Tyler; grandsons, Randy Tate and Bart Tate both of Plano; granddaughters, Kathy Hill of Dallas and Amy Tate of Lewisville; great grandson, Josh Tate and great granddaughter, Kennedy Hill; niece, Dee Gorman; nephew, Rick Moran; great nephews, Derrick Goodman and Casey Moran; great niece, Katylynn Moran; great-great niece, Alexis Goodman.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for Two O'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at the Centre Presbyterian Church in Elderville with Rev. Dave Smith officiating under direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Burial will follow in Elderville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 24th from 6 until 8 PM.
Memorials may be made to the Centre Presbyterian Church or to the Homeplace Hospice in Tyler.
