Gilbert Donald Miller's Obituary
Services for Gilbert D."Gill" Miller, 71, of Longview will be held at Four O'clock pm Friday May 14, 2004 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Craig Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Miller was born May 4, 1933 in Oak Harbor, Ohio to Ivan W. and Marvel Hawk Miller. He moved to Longview in 1947 and graduated from Longview High School in 1951. He was a member of the Texas A&M basketball team untill he injured his knee.
He married Sandra Kane in 1953 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before Gib became ill. He worked for Lone Star Steel Co. for 25 years until his retirement in 1986 as a supervisor and general foreman of the rolling mill.
Gib, was a loving, caring man, who never met a stanger. Wife, Sandra J. Miller, daughters Dawn Miller, Susan Riley and son-in-law, Mike of Longview, son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Chyrisse Miller of Austin, seven grandchildren, one brother Lynn Mitchell and special nephew and niece Jim and Cynthia Richey, all of Longview, survive him.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all of Mr. Miller's physicians, nurses, aides, and relatives who took such special care of him the last several months. Donations may be made to the Greater Hospice of Texas 1905 W. Loop 281 Space 81 Longview, Tx. 75604
