Germaine Grace DeKeyser Stearns' Obituary
Germaine Grace DeKeyser Stearns, age 73, of Longview, quietly left this world after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, in Longview, TX.
Geri was born on January 4, 1934 in Neenah, WI to the late Gabriel and Grace MuttartDeKeyser. Her sister, Evelyn Heuer of Neenah, WI preceded her in death. She is survived by her brothers Edmond and Willis DeKeyser of Neenah, WI and her sister Janet DeKeyser of Tucson, AZ.
Geri was the proud mother of Kristi Glenn Armstrong, Neenah, WI; Kathi GerryGreen, Mesa, AZ; Jami Garcia, Gulf Breeze, FL; Scott Danita Stearns, San Diego, CA; and Joi Ben Whaley, Longview, TX. She was also the loving grandmother to Kyle Armstrong;
Traci, Gerrod and Travis Green; Rachael Garcia; Noelle Domiano and Garrett Stearns; and Cas and Georgia Whaley.
Geri was a military wife married to the late Richard C. Stearns. She lived in many cities and states and made many friends along the way. She enjoyed music, traveling and chatting with her friends.
Geri especially touched the lives of the hospital personnel at Good Shepherd Medical Center in the last remaining months of her life. Our family is very thankful for the wonderful and sensitive care she received at Good Shepherd.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 13, 2007 at 12 Noon at Trinity Episcopal Church with Reverend Carol Petty officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity School of Texas.
Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Neenah, WI at a later date.
Geri was loved by all and will be greatly missed by friends and family.
