Gerald "Jerry" Hesler's Obituary
Gerald "Jerry" Hesler of Lake Cherokee, formerly of South Bend, Indiana, died April 7, 2010, at his residence after a long illness.
Jerry was born August 9, 1941 in South Bend, Indiana. He was the son of Carl Hesler and Alice Neland. He married Patricia Andrews in Sacred Heart Catholic Church on July 11, 1964 in South Bend. He attended Notre Dame University and graduated from St. Edward University in Austin, Texas with a B.S. degree in Business. Upon graduation, he was employed with Associates Investments where he spent his entire working career.
He resided in Carmel, Indiana and South Bend until 2004 when he moved to Lake Cherokee, Henderson, Texas. Jerry was a man of strong faith and was an active member of his church. He enjoyed scouting and fishing and the social aspects of life. As his family and friends can attest, Jerry was a friend to everyone. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Hesler; stepfather, Stanley Miller; and niece, Kathleen Hesler.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Alice Hesler-Miller of Henderson, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Tricia Hesler of Henderson, TX; his son and daughter, Marc and Cara Hesler of Avon Lake, Ohio; nieces, Alyson Hesler Espinoza-Diaz of Norway and Sarah Hesler of Ft. Worth, TX; an aunt, Genevieve Varga of South Bend, Indiana; cousins, Ned Schmitt, Marguerite Rollins, Josh Odusch, Marie Culliton, Jim Varga, Janet Berry and Joellen Arden.
There will be no visitation. Cremation arrangements are through Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Longview, Texas.
