Gerald Frank Andrews' Obituary
In loving memory of Gerald Frank Andrews, born February 7, 1946. He peacefully passed into God?s loving grace on March 26, 2006 when he lost his courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family.
He served bravely in U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and many years after. He later retired from the Longview Police Department after 18 years of service. Gerald was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Longview.
Left to cherish his memory for many years to come is: his wife, Brenda; daughters, Lindsay and Kaitlin. He is also survived by his mother, Roselyn Gleason of Chicago, IL and sister, Barbara Andrews of Dallas. His Texas family includes his mother-in-law, Alice Gaw; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce Gaw, Thomas and Suzanne Gaw, and Mark and Charline Pritchard and special aunts Ruth Eason and Ronnie Gaw. There are also countless cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Gleason of Chicago, IL and father-in-law, Bruce Gaw.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our family and friends who loved and cared for us through years of cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Sharma of the Longview Cancer Center for his patience and to the Longview VA Clinic for their years of continuous care of Gerald. A very special thank you to Dr. Andy Clark for his prayers and visits, Neil and Margaret Quinn for their enduring friendship, and Annabelle Morgan, our forever neighbor and friend.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Tuesday evening 6 to 8 PM. The Rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM Wednesday at St. Mary?s Catholic Church with funeral mass following at 2 PM with Father Gavin Vaverek officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be at Rosewood Park.
