Graveside services for Gerald Wayne Bryant, 74, of Hallsville will be held at Tatum Cemetery on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Bryant passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Hallsville.
Gerald Wayne Bryant was born October 15, 1942 in Hughes Springs, Texas to Jasper "Dock" Bryant and Ruby Ozella Hill Bryant Ford. He worked for Shippers Car Line as a sandblaster and stencil maker for 39 years. He enjoyed the company of friends and family. He watched old westerns and was a huge John Wayne fan. He loved football and the Dallas Cowboys was his team. GW, as most of his friend called him, could build just about anything with wood. He told very entertaining stories of his life..."And that's the Gospel". He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jasper Calloway Bryant and nephew, Jay Smelley.
Survivers include his sons, Randy Wayne Bryant and daughter-in-law Tracy Bryant, Gerald Wayne Bryant, Jr. "Dubby", Christopher Wayne Bryant; daughter, Crystal Bryant; brother, Jasper Callaway Bryant, Jr.; sisters, Wanda Jean Irby and spouse John Irby, Mary Ann Turlington and spouse Glen Turlington; grandchildren, Erica Swindell, Rebecca Bryant, Coltin Bryant, Autumn Foster, Cody Bryant, Summer Hurley, Carson Bryant, Nicole Bryant; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Isaiah Swindell, Madison and Jaxson and Aubree Hughes, Hailey Bryant, Wynter Foster, Cason Bryant, Cassidy Bonner, Conner Bryant; nieces and nephews, Lorrie Suddeth, Glen "GlendonWayne" Turlington, and many great nieces and nephews.
