Georgia Fay Burton Crawford began her heavenly journey Friday March 8th, 2024. Georgia was born July 23, 1935 to George and Faye Burton in Price, Texas. Georgia is preceded in death by her parents George and Faye Burton, brothers in law Jerry Crawford, Orion Stroud and James Rhodes and son in law Hardy Hoofman. Georgia is survived by her greatest love Jack Glen Crawford, Sr., sister Geraldine Burton Stroud, daughter Debra Crawford Hoofman, son Jack Jr. and Connie Crawford, grandson’s Joshua and Andrea Kelley, Jeremy and Michelle Kelley, Justin Kelley (Ashley) and Cole Crawford, great grandchildren Hunter Kelley, Jayden and Jase Kelley, Jett and Madyson Kelley and numerous nieces and nephews.
On June 12th, 1954, Jack and Georgia began their greatest adventure that spanned 70 years. Although they settled in Longview, they were able to live in several locations around the world. While at Fort Lawton in Seattle, Washington, she operated a military beauty parlor from 1957 to 1960. While stationed in Germany, Georgia and Jack traveled to many places including Paris, France. After returning to Longview, she went on to work as a distributor for Mary Kay Cosmetics for over 15 years.
Georgia was a beautiful and gracious person. She had deep faith and loved the Lord. She is and always will be the matriarch of the Crawford family. She and Jack were very rarely seen apart. She loved taking care of her family and watching it grow. She was happiest when she had all of her “ducks” together. She and Jack loved spending time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always baking cookies with them or wandering around the yard and green house teaching them life lessons. Georgia was the most beautiful, loving, and compassionate woman. Jack would address her as “Doll or Kiddo.” So, on the day she left this world, Jack leaned down and patted her cheek and said “I’ll see you later, Kiddo.”
