Georgia Ann Rooney
Georgia Ann Rooney, 52, of Hallsville, Texas departed this life on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Georgia moved to the Hallsville area in 1982, where she worked for Texas Bank and Trust for 25 years as an administrative officer. She was an intricate part of mentoring young employees and teaching them the inner-workings of the banking industry.
She was a loving sister, aunt, great aunt and friend to all. Georgia loved camping, gardening and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Leta Rooney. She is survived by her best friend Jerry Sherwood, brother Richard Kenzel and wife Betty of Rosston, AR, her sister Brenda Plaisance and husband Eddie of Hallsville and her brother David Rooney and wife Charlene of Longview. Georgia had 5 nephews, Eddie, Shane, Chris, Jeremy and Jacob. She also had 4 nieces, Stephanie, Jaren, Ashley and Courtney, who all looked at her as a second mom. She also had 12 great nieces and nephews, along with the loving family members of Jerry Sherwood.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caregivers from Beacon Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening, November 5, 2007 at Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Funeral services for Georgia will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Buck Lineberger officiating. In honoring Georgia?s wished to be cremated, a brief committal service will follow the service in the chapel.
