George was a very dear friend to both Pat and I. We are very sorry for your loss. George will be sorely missed. We apoligize for not attending his memorial service but I was called out of town If Pat and I can ever do anything for you, let us know. Keep in touch and come back to visit with us when you can.

We have fond memories of George, and in particular of his love for his family, his friends, and his country. George was a wonderful cook and he seemed to enjoy doing this for others. He was a true Forty & Eighter in every sense of the word and a definite asset to the organization. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. I met George at the American Legion in Duluth, GA. Come to find out, we were both from Shreveport, LA. I graduated Woodlawn in 1984 and joined the Navy in 1987. We hit it off right from the start. I will always remember the twinkle in his eye, the stories he always had to tell, and the big kiss he gave me whenever I saw him. We enjoyed many Holidays with George as a guest at our table. He was always there whenever someone needed a helping hand.
