George Marvin Henson's Obituary
George Marvin Henson, age 74, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Longview, Texas. Born in Kilgore, Texas, George lived a life defined by quiet strength, hard work, and deep devotion to his family. He dedicated 52 years of service to Burk Royalty, where he built not only a respected career in the oilfield but also lifelong friendships. An avid outdoorsman, George’s greatest joys were fishing and rebuilding boats, passions that allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Henson, and his children George Henson Jr. (Karen), Ashley Henson Futch (Jason), Tori Henson Rey (Augustine) and Taylor Henson.
He was the proud grandfather of Shelby Henson, Jayci Futch, Madalyn (Maddie) Futch, Evie Whitton, Eloise Rey, and Connor Rey, all of whom brought endless joy to his life. And Great Grandfather to Jessie and Miles.
George is also survived by his brother, Jack Henson (Shirley), and sister, Shirley Dilbeck, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Henson; mother, Mary Blackman Kenzie; brother, Floyd Lee Henson; sister, Carolyn Henson; and his infant daughter, LeeAnn Henson, born sleeping.
George’s legacy is one of loyalty, love, and quiet leadership. He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his lifelong work ethic, and the joy he found in fishing, restoring boats, and spending time outdoors.
A memorial service will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, Texas on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 3 p.m., where friends and family will gather to celebrate his life and the memories they shared with him.
