DeWayne walked with our family through many valleys and sang praises with us from every mountain top we reached.
He was there for the birth of our oldest son, Ryan and stayed in close contact with us when Ryan was sick and we were not sure if he would live or not. He led our youngest son, Ben's, Baby Dedication. Every Wednesday night before Wednesday night dinner, when he saw us walking in, he would jokingly try to get one of our boys to give him their Happy Meal.
Both he and sweet Claudia watched our boys grow up and every Sunday DeWayne never failed to give each of us words of encouragement and a big hug (Claudia always gave me a hug and a kiss).
When I contracted bacterial meningitis, no one would come into my hospital room for fear of contracting the disease. Although I understood, I was lonely. I awoke one day to find DeWayne standing beside my hospital bed, holding my hand and praying.
We love him so very much and are thankful for the love he selflessly poured into each of our lives. He truly loved our Father and faithfully strived to be Christ's hands and feet to so many.
We know without a doubt as soon as he reached Heaven, he heard Father God say, "Well done my good and faithful servant."
Sending each of you much love and many prayers.
David, Charlotte, Ryan, and Ben Fountain
