Geneva Faye Falconer's Obituary
Geneva Faye Powell Falconer was born February 3, 1930, in Joaquin, Texas to parents Mamie Louise Bridges and Cyril Powell. She ended her earthly journey September 8, 2023, at her home in Longview, Texas.
As the oldest daughter, she learned to take charge of a household at an early age. Cooking and sewing were two of many skills she would carry with her for the rest of her life. Upon graduation from Joaquin High School in 1947, she moved to Dallas to attend Draughn Business School. While indulging in her favorite pastime (rollerskating) she met the love of her life, Pete Falconer. They married June 28, 1952, and remained married until his death in 1987. After following construction jobs for several years, they settled in his hometown of Longview to raise a family of three children.
Geneva had many hobbies in her lifetime--cooking, sewing, tending to flowers, and going to garage sales. She was most famous for her collections of bears, trivets, and Lots of Dolls.
She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Longview where she volunteered with many activities.
Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers: Fred, Eugene, Pat, and Dick Powell; sisters Ruth Hogan and Jo Ann Irish; grandson David Hamill; niece Kay Buchanan and nephew Buddy Hogan.
She is survived by daughters Jan Bolton of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Kathy Falconer of Longview, and son Charlie Falconer of Dallas. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 15, from 5:00-7:00 at Rader Funeral Home, Longview. Graveside services will be Saturday. September 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Hill Cemetery. Rev. Kendal Land officiating.
