Gene T. Haley
Funeral services for Gene T. Haley, 84, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Entombment will follow at Rosewood Park Mausoleum. He passed away Saturday, December 22, in a Longview hospital.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Haley was born September 17, 1928 in Bunkie, LA to Robert and Lela Mae Haley and has been a resident of Longview since 1958. He was retired from Energy FAB as an electrician. Mr. Haley was a member of the Pine Tree Masonic Lodge and a veteran of the U. S. Navy where he served 10 years. He was a people person and would attempt to fix or repair most anything that needed it.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Haley and his brothers, James and Henry Haley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 54 years, Inez Haley; his loving daughters, Jackie Layne of Houston, Gwen Seilhant of Longview, Linda Matthis of Longview, Marybeth Waggonner of Tyler, Janice Layne of Longview and Lisa Braum of Baytown; brothers, Wayne Haley of Jefferson and Ed Haley of Kilgore; sisters, Maggie Weldon of Mineral Wells, Sally Faulkner of Huntsville and Sue Starnes of Chandler; 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
