Gayla Rae Singleton
Gayla Rae Singleton was born October 10, 1940, to James Ralph and Flossie Elizabeth Hollis in Eldorado, Arkansas. She departed this life on July 19, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents and 2 older brothers, Ralph Lynn Hollis and Jerry Don “Red” Hollis.
Gayla attended Hallsville Schools and earned an associate’s degree at Kilgore College in business. She married the love of her life, Richard Hollis Singleton on November 15, 1958. They truly enjoyed 58 years of marriage.
Gayla was a longtime employee and retired from Sears. She loved to travel in their motor home with Hollis and their dog Zoe and their family and friends. They would stay at the Lake ‘O the Pines forever if that was possible. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and camping at the lake with their friends.
She is survived by her loving husband Hollis, her daughter, Teri Singleton, her son Rick Singleton and his wife Lisa all of Longview. Her “Favorites” the Grandkids, Caitlyn Kubaiko, Zack Singleton, Alyson Blalock and her husband Kevin and great grandson Ethan. She is also survived by her brothers, James Hollis and his wife Diane of Longview, Garland “Rusty” Hollis and his wife
Shelia of Kilgore, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, July 23, 2016, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview officiated by Rev. Danny Warbington. Acting as pallbearers will be Randy Warnix, Cody Bloodworth, Josh Hollis, Zack Singleton, Alex Williams, and Fred Constanine. Interment will follow services at Rosewood Park. There will be a time of visitation at the funeral home the night before, Friday, July 22, 2016, from 6pm-8pm.
