Gary Douglas Walker's Obituary
Gary Douglas Walker was born on January 16,1953 in Longview, TX to Bruce and Eula Walker. He passed away on June 7, 2026, at his home in Gladewater, TX after a brief battle with cancer.
Gary grew up in White Oak, TX where he loved shooting his BB gun at any and everything! He loved doing athletic photography in high school. He was a graduate of White Oak High School Class of 1971.
In 2003, Gary met the love of his life, and their true love story began. Gary and Ashley married September 10, 2004. Ashley was his “Sweetie” and they loved all their time together and being at home with their cats and dog, watching movies, and just being with each other.
Gary retired in 2019 from Brookshire’s Grocery Company after 50 years of dedicated service. He was an Assistant Store Manager at many stores all over East Texas.
Gary loved to be outdoors hunting, camping, and fishing, especially with his best bud, Mason.
Above all, Gary will be remembered for his kind and generous heart, his funny sense of humor, and sweet personality. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Walker, sisters Mary Johnson and Martha Walker, father and mother-in-law Billy and Lisa Sanders, brothers-in-law Brandon Sanders and Mason Sanders, nieces Monica, Michelle, Torie and Jordan Grace, nephew Weston, grandmothers-in-law Merle Nash and Inez Sanders and numerous other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Jordan Taylor Sanders, and grandfather-in-law James Sanders.
A visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home from 5pm -7pm on Tuesday, June 9th.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home at 2pm on Wednesday, June 10th.
Pallbearers will be Billy Sanders, Brandon Sanders, Mason Sanders, Weston Sanders, Bobby Sanders and Aaron Sanders.
Interment will follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery.
