Gary Cecil Rowden's Obituary
Gary Cecil Rowden of Longview entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 7, 2017. Mr. Rowden was born October 10, 1941 in Pampa, Texas. Gary attended West Texas State College and graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center, Tulsa, OK in 1978. He founded and pastored Reigning Life Fellowship in Longview and co-pastored other churches in East Texas. Gary attended New Heights Church of Longview at the time of his death.
Gary was employed by and had expertise in the oil and gas industry for almost 50 years. He recently retired from Enbridge, Inc.
Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather with a very giving heart. His favorite pastime was reading and studying his Bible. Gary was known for being an excellent teacher of the Word of God. He was greatly loved by many people across the country.
Gary is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn, of the home; son, Lonny, and wife Kathleen of Long Beach, California; granddaughters, Joy and Joanna Rowden; and grandsons, Tyler Wilber and Greg Goggin and wife Samantha. He is also survived by a sister, Bonnie Jordan and husband Cotton; a brother, L. D. Rowden, and wife Kathy; and the mother of his granddaughters, Esther Rowden. Gary is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and special friends of the heart, Evangelists Larry and Gloria Lundstrom.
Services for Gary Rowden are scheduled for Friday, July 14, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Longview. Visitation will be Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. The service will be officiated by Reverends Joe C. Hall and Nathan Bounds. Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery, Hawkins, TX.
